Cataract is a highly prevalent disease in India, affecting 73% of people aged above 50 years. A simple restorative surgery can increase the patient’s ability to engage in productive work, support the family, and above all, live with dignity. The project worked to restore the vision of senior citizens from the marginalised sections by facilitating their cataract surgery free of cost. Following are the states covered under this program Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
